Hello everyone,

Sorry for the informal and impersonal email but if I sent this to everyone
individually I would run out of time.

Things aren't going to bad over here now. The only thing that could be better
is the food. I think it is cause I am used to having steak every night whilst
I was home in Rocky. So now when I have pasta and salad. I am very hungry,
but we are fixing that one. I am having stacks of protein drinks and bars
but it doesn't seem to be enough.

Last weekend I went to Cottbuss for a grand prix competition and went well.
Trialed 91.8 which is the biggest gear I have ever ridden in competition
and went very well. On an outdoor 333m concrete track I did 11.49sec for my
200m qualifying which is the second fastest time that I have ever done. It
turns out that that time also may be a track record for women so wouldn't
that be nice. Still waiting on confirmation for that one also Ryan Bayley
broke the men's track record which had been standing for the past 20 years.
He was moving in 10.25 sec.

The sprint rounds went well. I got through to the semi finals no worries
but then we had a 2 hour break and finished it off in the evening and from
then on I went down hill. Going back to the food, and not eating enough to
get me through the session, my legs went dead and as with jet lag my head
also went dead and tiered. I got through to the final but got beat in 2
rounds to German sprinter Christan Muche.

I was happy with my performance. Come the games things should be right back
on track. the food better, the jet lag gone and not so tiered.

I got a nice prize thought for second. 150 euro and a crystal vase that
stands taller then a 2litre coke bottle. Very nice and very heavy. I just
hope I can get it home after the games in one piece.

Now I am back in Buttgen training and the entire Olympic team arrives
today. enduros, sprinters and staff. The weather is hot and the sun is
shinning and it is a lovely day outside so I am off to enjoy it on my day
off.

I will be back again in a few days to check my emails so keep them coming.
It is great to hear from you all.

Take Care
Anna Meares
